Reaching Dudhwa National Park,India.


Dudhwa national park is located in district Lakhimpur khiri ,Uttar pradesh, India.The nearest Airport is Lucknow the capital of Uttar pradesh.From Lucknow there are two options for reaching Dudhwa it is either rail or by road the nearest rail head is Dudhwa which is not very convenient the best option is to reach by road Dudhwa is about 240 Kms from Lucknow private transport can be hired from Lucknow but before hiring make sure that the driver is comfortable driving on jungle roads or else he can spoil your trip.It is a approx. drive of about five hours from Lucknow.The total area of the park is about 490 Sq.km along with a buffer area of about 100 Sq.Km. Besides massive grassland and swamps,It is home to one of the finest Sal forests in India.

This park is a stronghold of barasingha or Swamp deers which can be spotted in herds of hundreds in Sathiana range of the park.It is worthwhile to mention here that half of the Swamp deers in earth are present in Dudhwa and India is the only country where this species are found.
